Y cuando una cree que la vida vuelve a su cauce, que se han acabado las noches sin dormir, que empieza a recuperar su propio espacio antes ocupado por una personita pegada al pecho o…
Son diversos los momentos de la infancia en los que un niño o una niña pueden llegar a tener un bultito en el pecho, y siempre, como es lógico, genera preocupación.
Una de las primeras veces que se puede observar un bultito en el pecho es en los primeros días tras el nacimiento, cuando las hormonas del embarazo, e incluso de antes del parto, aumentan en cantidad para que las glándulas mamarias de la mujer estén listas para segregar el calostro y posteriormente la leche materna.
Esas hormonas llegan al bebé, produciéndole un bultito en el pecho que se puede incluso palpar, como si fuera un pechito. De hecho, si presionamos puede incluso llegar a aparecer alguna gota de leche. Todo esto que comento es muy normal que suceda, así que lo único que tenemos que hacer es no tocar, no presionar, no extraer leche, y por supuesto acudir al pediatra si se pone más duro, enrojecido o caliente.
Sin hacer nada, pasadas unas semanas se irá reduciendo hasta desaparecer, básicamente porque no es el momento de que todos esos fenómenos sucedan.
Cuando el bultito aparece en niñas y niños mayores
Sí lo son, o suelen serlo, cuando las niñas y niños son más mayores. La reacción de los padres puede ser muy variada cuando consultan porque le han notado un bultito en el pecho a la niña. Una reacción que puede estar entre la ilusión de estar iniciando la pubertad (o el miedo, porque se acerca la adolescencia), y la auténtica preocupación si hay antecedentes de cáncer en la familia y piensan que pueda ser algo así.
Y no hablemos entonces cuando el bultito aparece en el pecho de un niño. Entonces a la preocupación de toda la familia se suma la del propio chico que viene verdaderamente consternado.
El botón mamario
Lo más normal es que se trate de un botón mamario. Un pequeño bultito por debajo del pezón, de consistencia dura o gomosa, y que a veces eleva un poco el pezón. En ocasiones puede molestar un poco, sobre todo por el roce, pero no suele ser doloroso. Puede afectar a ambas mamas o a una sola.
En las niñas se puede presentar casi a cualquier edad, incluso con 2 ó 3 años, aunque lo más frecuentes es que suceda cerca de la pubertad. Si aparece antes de los 8 años hay que asegurarse de que no se ha iniciado la pubertad antes de tiempo y de que solo hay desarrollo de la mama, sin vello púbico ni axilar y por supuesto sin menstruación. Si solo se empieza a desarrollar la mama, puede ser un desarrollo transitorio y volver a su estado anterior o puede ser persistente hasta que empiece realmente la pubertad.
El botón mamario en los niños
En varones lo más frecuente es que suceda a partir de los 12 años, cuando ya está en marcha el desarrollo puberal. Suele afectar a las dos mamas. Estaría relacionado con un desequilibrio entre las hormonas femeninas y masculinas, con un predominio transitorio de las hormonas femeninas.
Como las hormonas femeninas tienden a acumularse en el tejido graso, es más frecuente en niños con sobrepeso, y la pérdida de peso contribuye a la mejoría.
En cualquier caso, en este caso el bultito en el pecho se trata de un pequeño trastorno sin mayor repercusión y que no precisa tratamiento, aunque a los varones con sobrepeso se les debe animar a perder peso, para tranquilidad de su autoestima. Los bultitos normales en el pecho suelen salir justo por debajo de la areola. Si lo tiene más arriba puede ser un quistecito de grasa o alguna otra cosa. No suele ser nada importante, pero debería verla su pediatra.

En mi caso mi hijo tiene 11 años recién cumplidos , y tiene un vultito más bn duro detras de la aureola en el pecho izquierdo. En los varones también pueden producirse estos bultitos, porque a esta edad, con la pubertad, las hormonas sexuales empiezan a aumentar y en los varones también se producen picos intermitentes y transitorios de hormonas femeninas. No tiene mayor importancia. No será permanente y no habrá que hacer nada. Si le molesta se puede poner una tirita para que no le roce. Lo que sí es importante es evitar o tratar si es necesario el sobrepeso.

Con esa edad puede ser un botón mamario, como comentamos en el blog, o el inicio de la pubertad. No es necesario que vayas ahora al pediatra por esto. Puedes comentárselo la próxima vez que lo veas.

El botón mamario no se mueve, eso más bien podría ser un ganglio pero habría que verlo. Intenta llamar al pediatra a ver que te sugiere. En la mayoría de los centros se han establecido circuitos especiales para ver a los niños sano.

Exacto, Adrian. Probablemente sea un botón mamario y aunque puede molestar un poco, se irá solo en unos días y no tiene mayor importancia. Si te molesta para hacer deporte te puedes poner una tirita para que no te moleste el roce de la ropa.

A esta edad es posible que ya esté empezando con la pubertad. Es normal. Las molestias en el pecho deberían desaparecer en unos días.

Los bultitos bajo el pezón pueden molestar un poco, pero es algo transitorio. Lo del exceso de azúcar será que en niños gorditos, la mama puede crecer más de lo normal para un varón porque en el tejido graso se acumulan hormonas femeninas y parece que tienen pecho, como si fueran niñas. No tiene mayor importancia y se soluciona bajando de peso, lo que a la vez es muy importante para su salud en general.

A esa edad suele suceder por activación de la glándula mamaria y no tiene mayor importancia.

Pueden durar meses, de todas formas, coméntalo con su pediatra para quedarte tranquila. No obstante es muy raro que se trate de otra cosa o que sea algo maligno.

Mi hija mide 1,24, és la más menudita de clase y he leido que una vez sale el boton mamario, la regla aparece a los 2 años y se realentiza mucho el crecimiento. Me da mucha preocupacion que no crezca lo que deviera y se quede muy bajita.
Por otro lado, tener la regla a los 10 me parece extremadamente temprano. No se puede hacer nada para retardar-lo? A mi me vino a los 14.

Hola, Anna. El botón mamario aislado no predice el inicio de la pubertad y estrictamente hablando, a partir de los 8 años puede suceder en cualquier momento y no precisa tratamiento para retrasarlo. Lo normal es que las niñas tengan su primera regla mas o menos a la misma edad que la madre. Eso le da bastante tiempo para seguir creciendo. Si le notas otros signos de pubertad coméntalo con su pediatra, pero si es solo el botón mamario se puede esperar.

Probablemente se trate de un botón mamario, Carlos. Debería desaparecer en unos días o semanas. Si persiste coméntalo con tu médico pero en principio no parece nada urgente.

Los botones mamarios son frecuentes también en varones a estas edades, pueden molestar un poco, pero no es nada grave.

Si ya ha tenido su primera menstruación no debería tener este tipo de bultitos en el pecho. Tampoco a esta edad suelen ser cosas preocupantes, pero deberían verla para saber qué es y lo que hay que hacer.

Esa bolita bajo el pezón puede ser un botón mamario. Se quitan solas pero puede tardar semanas, incluco meses. Si ya la han visto puedes estar tranquila. Ya se le quitará.

A esta edad pueden empezar a tener algo de vello púbico y olor corporal y no significa que esté empezando con la pubertad. Si no te quedas tranquila vuelve a consultar con su pediatra quien te derivará al endocrinólogo si lo ve necesario.

Si se trata de un botón mamario no reviste ninguna gravedad, pero para estar seguros hay que verlo y tocar el bultito para valorar consistencia, movilidad, color, etc. Deberían verlo, pero no es nada urgente. Se puede esperar.

Hola, Fernanda, el botón mamario suele ser de un solo lado. Es normal. Si es que está empezando con la pubertad el otro lado puede empezar a desarrollarse un poco más tarde, no pasa nada.

Puede durar semanas, incluoso meses. Si crece mucho más allá del borde de la areola o expulsa líquido por el pezón deberías consultar.

Si el bultito apareció después de un pellizco debería desaparecer solo en días o pocas semanas. Si no se le quita deberían verla.

Exacto, Diego. Eso tiene pinta de ser un botón mamario. No tiene ninguna importancia. Si te molesta te puedes poner una tirita para que no te moleste con el roce de la ropa.

El botón mamario puede salir también en varones, pero normalmente se trata de un bultito detrás del pezón. Si se lo notas por debajo y de consistencia hueso, probablemente sea otra cosa. Lo normal es que no sea nada importante. Muchas veces se palpan salientes de los huesos normales de esa zona, el esternón o alguna costilla, pero así, sin verlo y tocarlo es imposible saber que es. Deberías consultar con su pediatra cuando puedas. No parece urgente.

El control con la endocrinóloga se puede demorar. No es urgente y se puede esperar a que la situación esté más tranquila, pero si te preocupa algo en concreto podrías ponerte en contacto con ella por teléfono o email.

Coincido con tu médico en que lo más probable es que sea algo completamente benigno. La ecografía acabará por aclarartelo.

El botón mamario puede salir más de una vez y no significa que esté empezando la pubertad ni que haya ningún problema. Si le pica se le puede poner alguna crema hidratante.

Entiendo que ahora solo tiene lo del pecho y la sangre solo se vió cuando tenía 3 días. Ambas cosas son normales. Ahora tiene un botón mamario que no tiene ningun importancia y cuando era recién nacida tuvo su pechito hinchado y ese sangrado por efecto de las hormonas de la madre. Si sangra como una regla con 7 años hay que consultar porque es demasiado pronto.

Hola, María. En niñas se considera pubertad precoz antes de los 8 años, pero si solo es un botón mamario intermitente no se considera inicio de la pubertad. Habría que ver otros parámetros. Deberías comentarlo con su pediatra.

Si sale un líquido al comprimir el pezón hay que verlo porque botón mamario o el desarrollo normal de la mama durante la pubertad no tienen porqué producir esto.

A partir de los 8 años, aunque parezca muy pronto, ya es posible que empiecen los cambios propios de la pubertad y no es necesario hacer nada.

Una bolita por encima del ombligo podría ser una hernia supraumbilical. Habría que verlo. Los bultitos justo debajo del pezón no tienen mayor importancia.

A partir de los 8 años se pueden empezar a ver cambios asociados a la pubertad, y no hace falta poner nada en el pecho. Ni hielo ni manzanilla. DEjará de crecer si realmente está desarrollando. Para eso habría que valorar mas cosas, no solo el crecimiento del pecho.

Mi hija igual, tiene 7 años y 10 meses y desde junio de este año se quejó que le salió una bolita en el pezón derecho. La llevé con su pediatra y me dijo que era normal pero la verdad estoy desesperada porque siento que le ha crecido y es más grande que la aureola, como del tamaño de una uva, y cuando la toco dice que le duele. ¿Qué puedo hacer doctora? Solo es en un pecho (el derecho), ya hace 5 meses. ¿Qué puedo hacer?

Hola, Guillermina. Si hay liquido y se forman costras podría tratarse de una infeccion y precisará tratamiento. Deberías consultarlo con su pediatra.

Hola, Paola. Esos granitos son normales y desaparecen solos. No hay que hacer nada y por supuesto no estrujar. Coméntalo con su pediatra cuando le hagan la primera revisión.

Hola, Valentina. Si le ves ronchitas podría ser una dermatitis o incluso irritación por el roce con la ropa. Puedes ponerle una crema protectora como las que se ponen en la zona del pañal de los bebés-

Hola, Sam. Un médico de familia podrá orientarte perfectamente para ver lo que conviene hacer. No es urgente pero tampoco hay que dejarlo.

Pueden ser pequeñas glándulas que hay en la areola y que van cambiando de tamaño dependiendo de la fase de ciclo hormonal y es normal que moleste un poco. Si persiste más de 15 días o sigue creciende deberías consultar pero es probable que desapareza antes de ese tiempo o al menos disminuya de tamaño y deje de molestar.

Todavía no le ha llegado la menstruación. Leyendo el blog y comentarios me deja tranquila que tengo que esperar un poco, sin embargo yo tuve Cáncer de mama hace pocos años. Mi pregunta es ¿si debo esperar un poco para ver qué pasa con esa bolita o debo llevarla con el doctor? ¿Por otro lado la debería ver el pediatra, el ginecólogo o el Oncologo?

Hola, Sylvia. Esos bultitos son propios del desarrollo que se va produciendo en tu hija. No hace falta ir al médico, pero si te quedas más tranquila llévala a su pediatra.

Esas bolitas son probablemente glándulas de Montgomery, son glándulas sebáceas localizadas en las areolas rodeando al pezón y que contienen una sustancia blanca espesa. Son normales y no suponen ningún problema, pero que no se las toque.

Pueden ser botones mamarios, y a esta edad es posible que persistan mas tiempo de lo habitual, pero si te preocupa coméntalo con tu médico.

Cuando la niña ya ha tenido la menarquia, su primera regla, es porque los ciclos hormonales ya se han establecido y en esos casos durante ciertos períodos del ciclo los pechos pueden molestar un poco, incluso doler y no significa nada grave.

Si está por arriba del pezón, y no por detrás, puede ser otra cosa. El botón mamario se nota por detrás del pezón y lo eleva. Si tiene otro tipo de bultito habría que verlo. Seguramente no es nada importante, pero no te puedo recomendar nada para quitarlo si no sabemos de qué se trata.

Hola, Yesica. Esos bolitas alrededor del pezón son normales y se quitan solas. Comentalo con el pediatra la próoxima vez que lo veas por otra cosa, pero no es necesario acudir al médico solo por eso.

Hola, Carlos. A tu edad es normal que salgan estos bultitos y se debe a las hormonas propias de la adolescencia. Acabarán desapareciendo solos. Si molesta mucho puedes ponerte una tirita sobre el pezón.

Hola. Areli. Si tenía el aspecto de una bolita de grasa pero ahora le duele puede ser un granito como los que salen en el acné. Se le quitará solo en unos días. Puedes aplicar calor seco para ayudarlo a madurar. Si crece mucho o le duele deberían verlo.

A esa edad puede ser un botón mamario y no tiene porqué indicar que se ha iniciado la pubertad si es lo único que le notas.

Hola, Amanda. Imagino que aún no habrás tenido la primera regla, y en ese caso es normal que tengas esa bolita primero en un seno, luego en otro. Es consecuencia del desarrollo puberal. En algun momento se desarrollarán ambas y seguirán creciendo hasta llegar al tamaño del seno adulto que tengas que tener. Coméntaselo a tu madre que te sabrá aconsejar. Gracias por comentar.

Hola, Jocelyn. Es normal a esta edad. Durante la pubertad las hormonas sexuales empiezan a aumentar y en los varones también se puede presentar el botón mamario. Es transitorio y no hay que hacer nada.

Hola, Sasha. Probablemente sean cosas distintas. Las bolitas en la cabeza pueden ser ganglios o salientes óseos normales. Si se lo vieron seguramente no es nada preocupante. Las bolitas encima del pezón también tienden a desaparecer solas.
Doctora mi niña de 12 años hace 1 mes presentó un bultico debajo del pezón derecho y al otro día de detectarlo tenía una mitad del seno enrojecido e inflamado, la llevé al médico (cirujano) me dijo que tenía una celulitis y con paños fríos y antibiótico por 10 días resolvió, pero hoy se detectó un bultico debajo del pezón izquierdo..que puede ser? Ya estamos asustadas por lo que pasó con el anterior que aún no sabemos como se provocó esa celulitis y ahora otro bultico. Que podrá ser?
No tiene porqué volver a repetirse la celulitis, pero habrá que estar pendiente a ver como va evolucionando.

En los varones también puede haber botón mamario. Es habitual durante la pubertad por el aumento normal de las hormonas, tanto masculinas como femeninas en los chicos. Desaparecerá en unos meses y no hay que hacer nada especial.

Si ya ha tenido la regla habrá que controlarlo. Seguramente es un nodulito normal de la glándula. Vuelve a palparlo en unos días a ver si ha cambiado y si coméntalo con su pediatra.

Esos bultitos debajo del pezón suelen ser botones mamarios y no hay que hacer nada especial. Solo vigilar.

Le duele al tocarlo .de hecho hay días que esta más inflameado y otros menos dolor y más desinflando, lo que me confunde, puesto que pareciaera que no tiene la misma forma que hace 3 dias atrás. Tengo una hija que ha cumplido 12 años hace poco, está bien de peso, no tiene la regla ect ect.
Hace más o menos 2 años ( no estoy segura) la vi un bulto en los dos senos. Con el tiempo, se volvió el del pezón izquierdo más pequeño, pero el del izquierdo creció más, más menos del tamaño de una moneda de 5 céntimos, es decir del tamaño más o menos del pezón. El bulto, causa elevación, aunque no mucha. El bulto, es duro, circular, con bordes irregulares y al ejercer presión se mueve, es decir que está por debajo del pezón pero se puede mover. Quería saber si era algo grave o solo puede ser un botón mamario. También, quería preguntar cuánto tarda en desparecer, y si es normal que lo tenga desde 2 o 1 años.

A esta edad, más que botón mamario, es que estará empezando con la pubertad.

Si está entrando en la adolescencia puede ser normal que dure un poco más, de todas formas no estaría de más que lo revisen.

Esos granitos blancos no tienen mayor importancia, Mirtha. Se le irá solo. Enséñaselo a su pediatra la próxima vez que lo veas por otra cosa.
